Advent Dinner
This year's Advent Dinner was the first of its kind at LCOS. All who attended signed-up to bring a dish to share OR paid $10/person for a superb variety of seasonal food. The congregation provided the excellent roast pork. After the dinner, Christmas carols were sung and gifts were distributed to prize winners. The evening ended with the singing of "Silent Night." Great singing! Great food! Great fellowship! PHOTO

"HERITAGE SUNDAY" at LCOS

On Sunday, September 13 ---Grandparents Day--- members of the congregation gathered on the campus picnic area for hamburgers, brats---a good ol' fashioned picnic (including a Noah's ark "jump house)---to celebrate the heritage of faith which is ours as confessional and liturgical Lutherans. Part of the celebration was the presentation to every household of a "heritage gift" from the congregation: a CD of Lutheran hymns and liturgy sung by children for children to listen to and learn at home so that they will feel more 'at home' in the divine service of their church home.

Parsonage Project Complete

The LCOS parsonage - just 8 months after breaking ground for construction - is now complete! From foundation-piers to final landscaping touches, the church's house is finished...and - thanks to the generous thankofferings of members - is also fully-funded and paid for! The associate pastor and family have been moved in and now call the church parsonage "home."

Open House: August 16, 4-7:30 p.m.

Farewell to Phil Schuster

In late May, between Sunday morning services, the members of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior bid farewell to brother in Christ, Phil Schuster. The Lord recently took Phil's wife Maggie home to heaven, and Phil has moved into closer proximity to several of his children. Phil had served as grade 3-4 school teacher for several years at the Lutheran School of Our Savior, was Director of Education until his departure, was a member of the Board of Christian Education, and an Elder of the congregation, and served in many other capacities. Godspeed, Phil.

LSB Dedication
LCOS Dedicates 'Lutheran Service Book' ... 285 hymnals, the Altar Book, Agenda, Pastoral Companion, Organist's books, etc., of the new 'Lutheran Service Book' were dedicated to the glory of God on Pentecost Sunday. The new hymnals will be used for the first time on Trinity Sunday. We are grateful for a new hymnal which, in the spirit of The Lutheran Hymnal and Lutheran Worship, maintains the historic liturgy of the church and a doctrinally sound hymnody. The placement of the books in the photo was done in such a way as to make the image of the cross similar to that which is embossed on the cover of each hymnal.
